Eberechi And The Christmas Goat
Hello,
Eberechi loved animals. She loved to watch them play, feed them, and pet them. She especially loved the goat that her father had brought home for Christmas. She named him Olu, and they became best friends.
Every day, Eberechi would wake up early and run to the backyard, where Olu was tied to a tree. She would bring him some grass, water, and fruits, and talk to him in her sweet voice. Olu would bleat happily and nuzzle her hand. Eberechi would hug him and tell him stories.
She did not know that her father had bought Olu for a different purpose. He planned to slaughter him on Christmas Eve and cook him for the family feast. He thought that Eberechi was too young to understand, and that she would forget about Olu once she saw the delicious meat and the other gifts he had bought for her.
But Eberechi was not stupid. She had overheard her father talking to her mother about his plans. She was shocked and heartbroken. She could not bear the thought of losing her friend, or eating him. She decided to do something to save Olu.
She waited until her father was asleep, and then she sneaked out of the house. She untied Olu and led him to the gate. She opened it and told him to run away. She hoped that he would find a safe place to live, where no one would hurt him.
But Olu did not want to leave Eberechi. He was loyal and grateful to her. He followed her back to the house, and refused to go away. Eberechi tried to push him, but he was too stubborn. He kept bleating loudly, as if he was calling for her.
Her father woke up and heard the noise. He came out and saw Eberechi and Olu at the gate. He was angry and confused. He asked Eberechi what she was doing. Eberechi burst into tears and told him the truth. She begged him to spare Olu's life. She said that he was her friend, and that she loved him more than anything.
Her father was touched by her words. He realized how much Olu meant to her, and how cruel it would be to kill him. He also remembered how much he loved Eberechi, and how he wanted to make her happy. He decided to change his mind. He told Eberechi that he would not kill Olu, and that he would buy her a toy instead. He asked her to forgive him for his mistake.
Eberechi was overjoyed. She hugged her father and thanked him. She also hugged Olu and told him that he was safe. Olu bleated happily and licked her face. Eberechi smiled and said that he was the best Christmas gift ever.
