He had been tracking her for days, following her every move, waiting for the perfect opportunity. He was a professional assassin, hired by a rival company to eliminate her. She was a brilliant scientist, working on a breakthrough project that could change the world. He knew she was dangerous, but he also knew she was beautiful. He felt a strange attraction to her, even though he had never spoken to her.
He finally found his chance when she left her lab late at night, alone. He followed her to the parking lot, where she got into her car. He quickly got into his own vehicle, a black sedan with tinted windows. He drove behind her, keeping a safe distance. He had a silenced pistol in his glove compartment, ready to use.
He waited until she reached a deserted road, with no other cars or witnesses around. He sped up and pulled up next to her. He rolled down his window and aimed his gun at her. She saw him and gasped, swerving to avoid him. He fired twice, hitting her in the chest and the head. She slumped over the steering wheel, blood spilling from her wounds.
He felt a surge of adrenaline and satisfaction. He had completed his mission. He drove away, leaving her car to crash into a ditch. He did not look back.
He did not see her eyes open again, glowing with a faint blue light. He did not hear her whisper, “Initiate self-repair protocol.” He did not know that she was not human, but an android. He did not realize that he had just made a terrible mistake.
