Another Twins
Another Twins
Anna and Emma were twins, but they couldn’t be more different. Anna was outgoing, adventurous, and popular, while Emma was shy, quiet, and studious. They had different hobbies, different friends, and different dreams. They often argued and fought, and sometimes wished they were not related.
One day, they found a mysterious book in their attic. It was titled “Another Twins” and had a picture of two girls who looked exactly like them on the cover. They opened the book and read the first page:
“Welcome to Another Twins, a magical adventure where you can swap lives with your twin for a day. To start the journey, you and your twin must say the following words together: ‘Another Twins, Another Twins, let us see what the other wins.’ Then, close your eyes and count to ten. When you open them, you will find yourself in your twin’s body. To return to your own body, you must say the words again before the day is over. But be careful, for there is a catch: if you fail to complete a challenge that your twin has set for you, you will be stuck in their body forever. Good luck, and have fun!”
Anna and Emma looked at each other in disbelief. They thought it was a joke, or a prank, or a dream. They decided to try it out, just for fun. They said the words together, closed their eyes, and counted to ten.
When they opened their eyes, they gasped. They had switched bodies. Anna was in Emma’s body, and Emma was in Anna’s body. They felt weird and confused, but also curious and excited. They decided to go along with the game and see what it was like to be their twin for a day.
They went to their rooms and found a note on their beds. It was from their twin, and it had a challenge for them. Anna’s note said:
“Dear Anna, I hope you enjoy being me for a day. Here is your challenge: you must go to school and ace the math test that I have been studying for all week. You must also join the chess club and play a match with the best player. And you must make friends with the nerds and geeks that you always ignore or bully. Good luck, and don’t mess up. Love, Emma.”
Emma’s note said:
“Dear Emma, I hope you have fun being me for a day. Here is your challenge: you must go to school and audition for the lead role in the school play that I have been rehearsing for all month. You must also join the cheerleading squad and perform a routine with them. And you must flirt with the hottest guy in school and get him to ask you out. Good luck, and don’t be boring. Love, Anna.”
Anna and Emma felt nervous and scared. They didn’t know how to do any of the things that their twin had challenged them to do. They wondered if they could back out, but they remembered the warning: if they failed, they would be stuck in their twin’s body forever. They decided to give it a try, and hoped for the best.
They went to school and faced their challenges. Anna struggled with the math test, but managed to guess some of the answers. She joined the chess club, but lost the match miserably. She tried to be nice to the nerds and geeks, but found them boring and annoying. She realized that being Emma was not easy, and that she had underestimated her twin’s intelligence and skills.
Emma fumbled with the audition, but managed to remember some of the lines. She joined the cheerleading squad, but fell down during the routine. She tried to flirt with the hottest guy, but found him arrogant and rude. She realized that being Anna was not fun, and that she had overestimated her twin’s popularity and confidence.
They both learned a lot about their twin, and themselves. They realized that they had a lot in common, and that they had a lot to offer. They also realized that they had been unfair and unkind to their twin, and that they had taken them for granted. They felt sorry and ashamed, and wished they could apologize and make up.
They went home and ran to the attic. They found the book and opened it. They said the words together, closed their eyes, and counted to ten.
When they opened their eyes, they sighed in relief. They had switched back to their own bodies. They hugged each other and said they were sorry. They thanked each other for the experience and the lesson. They decided to be more supportive and respectful of their twin, and to share more of their lives with them.
They closed the book and put it back in the attic. They never opened it again, but they never forgot it either. They became closer and happier, and lived as another twins.
